Neuropsychology and Anxiety Disorders

Are anxiety disorders neurobiological in origin? Psychogenic? Psychosocial? Do they frequently coexist with neurodevelopmental disorders? In their clinical presentation, certain developmental disorders are closely linked to manifestations of anxiety disorders and are sometimes confused with them, or vice versa.

This workshop will be divided into two parts. The first part will focus on manifestations of anxiety found in populations of children with neurodevelopmental syndromes, including Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), language disorders (dysphasia syndromes), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Tourette Syndrome, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The second part of the training will focus on more targeted interventions for each identified neurological condition within this population of children.
