Conscious Communication

In this training on conscious communication, Luc-Antoine Malo offers concrete, easily applicable, and surprisingly powerful tools to facilitate your human relationships and to gently and positively influence the people with whom you want or need to collaborate.

The first part, “Establishing Relational Safety,” addresses the importance of always respecting the fundamental human need to feel safe. You will discover simple and easily applicable concepts and tools to secure the relationship and ensure that you remain in control of the communication.

The second part, “Adapting to the Other Person’s Experience,” explains how people construct their human experience through different filters that create a constant distortion of reality. Understanding this reality allows for greater acceptance of others and helps us become more flexible in our approaches toward them. Linguistic tools to better adapt to the other person’s language patterns in order to facilitate mutual understanding will then be presented.

The third part, “The Meaning and Choice of Words,” focuses on language, words, and their deep meaning for each individual. You will realize how every word refers to a personal experience and that it is important to ask questions to ensure optimal communication. You will then be introduced to meta-model questions that help clarify language selections and omissions.

The training concludes with the section “Words and Mind Games,” which revisits the essential elements of the conference “The Meaning and Choice of Words” while adding the continuation of the meta-model questions that help clarify unconscious generalizations and distortions included in language.
