Better Understanding the Dynamics of Difficult Groups

In order to support and help teachers improve the classroom climate within their group, I experimented with and developed a support model inspired by the document produced by the regional support services of the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec regions, “Intervening with Difficult Groups: A Support Guide for Secondary School Teachers,” which involves students, parents, teachers, professionals, and administration.

Because it is inspired by research on group dynamics and different types of leadership, the model developed makes it possible to apply preventive strategies in order to promote the development and maintenance of a respectful climate conducive to learning for students in these groups, with ongoing collaboration between teachers, professionals, and administration serving as the foundation.

This training is delivered in two parts. The first, more theoretical part, discusses the evolution of group dynamics over time and the factors that influence it, developed in collaboration with Mr. Camil Sansfaçon. In the second part, I present the support model in greater detail.
