ADHD in Preschool-Aged Children

Helping to understand and identify the manifestations of ADHD in preschool-aged children from a neurodevelopmental perspective. After a brief introduction to children’s neurological maturation, we will present the normal development of attention and related executive functions from ages 0 to 5. We will then address the definition of ADHD and its clinical manifestations in young children, the relevance of assessments with this specific population along with their strengths and limitations. Finally, we will review the interventions that may be offered to children who are suspected of having or who have received a diagnosis of ADHD.
